what is a yarn forward stitch?

I've been knitting for many years and have never taken a point yfwrd. I'm wanting to make a pair of slippers for my little newborn girl and asks that point.

It is more commonly known as yarnover, revealing "yo" in knitting.

If the next item is a knitted fabric, move the wire forward. If the following is a purl, the thread at the back.

You may have been to, but never seen anything known before.

Bring the thread to you, between the knitting needles. It probably followed either by dragging a point or whisper.

When you are knitting, the yarn you are working with is held in the back of your line. Yarn forward means that you should bring your working yarn to the front.
